R&D Center

Shida Carbon’s R&D center was established in 2005 and was recognized as a provincial enterprise technology center in 2009. After six years of construction, the R&D centre has working with many top talents and first-class equipment in carbon industry, came out our own way which is combined with production, study and research.

R&D Mechanism

Focusing on the requirements of “inside training, long-term incentives, and system improvement” for constructing innovative scientific research institutions, Shida Carbon attracts and gathers elite scientific research talents from domestic carbon industry, established an innovative scientific research institute system on three levels with internal and external coordination, which is directly managed by the board of directors, coordinated by R&D centre and six departments.

R&D Honors

Under the four-round promotion of constructing innovative scientific research institutions, research personnel training, innovative talent incentive mechanism, and innovation achievement evaluation, in 2010, the company's large-scale ultra-high power graphite electrode project has been included to the National Torch Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology and won the National Science & Technology Progress Award (second class) from All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. In the same year, we were listed by the government as the first batch of strategic emerging industry project contractors in Sichuan Province. Meanwhile, the company's intellectual property construction has also leaped to a new level. From the couple of years recently, Shida has obtained 13 patents in the high-end carbon field, supporting the steady improvement of enterprise's quality connotation and technology content through innovation and scientific research.

History and layout of Shida Carbon：

Jul. 1990: Mr. Zhang Shigong founded Shanxi Jiexiu Shida Carbon Co, Ltd.

Aug. 2001: Mr. Zhang Shigong founded Guanghan Shida Carbon Co., Ltd.

Jun. 2004: Wholly-owned subsidiary Dechang Shida Carbon Co., Ltd founded.

Nov. 2005: Wholly-owned subsidiary Sichuan Shida Trading Co., Ltd founded.

Aug. 2008: Guanghan Shida Carbon Co., Ltd reformed share-holding structure, and renamed as Sichuan Guanghan Shida Carbon Co., Ltd.

Sep. 2009: Wholly-owned subsidiary Meishan Shida New Materials Co., Ltd founded.

Dec. 2009: Wholly-owned subsidiary Sichuan Shida Fine Carbon Co., Ltd founded.

May. 2010: Meishan Shida’s 20,000mt/year 550mm and above UHP graphite electrode project been included in National Torch Program.

May. 2011：Dechang Shida’s phaseⅢ240KA LWG graphitization unit officially started operation

Nov. 2011 Sichuan Shida fine Carbon’s isotropic graphite production line achieved critical success

Mar. 2012: Meishan Shida’s 3500mt extruder and German made vibration forming machine officially started operation

Aug. 2012: Dechang Shida’s 5000mt/year isotropic graphite graphitization and purification unit started operation

Aug. 2012: Shida Fine Carbon’s car bottom furnace officially started operation

Aug. 2013: Shida Carbon gained two appraisements of sci-tech achievements from Sichuan Science and Technology Department

Shida Carbon’s main products are: Dia.400-700mm RP, HP and UHP Graphite Electrode and Isostactic Pressing Graphite. Our products are widely used in the industries of electric arc furnace steel making, submerged arc furnace smelting, solar photovoltaics , EDM, fine chemicals, high temperature treatment, precision casting, nuclear power, electrolytic aluminum and etc.
